The Coalition for an Equitable Economy (CEE) is a broad cross-sector coalition of stakeholders from across the state aligned around a shared commitment to building an equitable small business ecosystem and to the values of racial equity, collaboration, and shared leadership.
Mission:
The Coalition for an Equitable Economy seeks to ensure equitable access to capital, Business networks, Education, Technical Support, and other resources for Black, Latinx, immigrant, and low-income small business owners in Massachusetts. We aim to build on the foundation of existing assets, a highly collaborative, innovative, and effective ecosystem that delivers to diverse entrepreneurs the resources necessary to start, stabilize and grow profitable businesses that fuel the Massachusetts economy.

The Coalition’s ecosystem-based approach will build on the strong human, organizational, and programmatic assets that support underserved businesses across the Commonwealth, while also filling gaps in the small business support infrastructure, to develop and advance a broad vision and strategy for an equitable and inclusive small business ecosystem in Massachusetts. The Coalition for an Equitable Economy, initially formed by a Steering Committee of small business support organizations and leaders, seeks to convene and partner with a board cross-sector coalition of stakeholders from across the state-aligned around a shared commitment to building an equitable small business ecosystem and to the values of racial equity, collaboration, and shared leadership.
What You’ll Do
CEE Director will serve in a leadership role with multifaceted work with Coalition leadership and key stakeholders to support the Coalition’s ecosystem-based approach to develop and advance a vision and strategy for an equitable and inclusive small business ecosystem in Massachusetts. The director will be responsible for working with and helping build an effective coalition, responsible for the coordination of policy research and advocacy, and creatively supporting strategies and tactics to engage cross-sector organizations, partners, and stakeholders to direct needed resources towards Black, Latinx, immigrant and low-income small business owners in Massachusetts.
The CEE Director is an effective communicator and coalition builder passionate about supporting Black, Latinx, immigrant, and low-income small business owners. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively and have a talent for building strong relationships between members, partners, and diverse stakeholders.

This is a full-time remote position with an option to work from an office location at BECMA headquarters in Downtown Boston. However, so long as there remains a public health emergency due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, team members are not expected to work from the office. Those who do wish to work from the office location are expected to be fully vaccinated or to provide a negative COVID test prior to each visit.
