“In Massachusetts, the annual unmet demand for capital among businesses of color is at least
$574 million, and COVID-19 required many of these businesses to pivot quickly. Community
Advocacy Award honorees provided technical assistance, capital and other resources to assist
these businesses. Honorees in this category are:

● Small Business Strong, an initiative led by Yvonne Garcia in addition to her role as Chief
of Staff to the Chairman and CEO of State Street Corporation where she is also Global
