At BECMA, we are only as strong as our members. It is the resilience, curiosity, and tenacity of our members that fuel our tireless efforts to advance the economic well-being of Black people and businesses across Massachusetts. Our community includes Black students, Black Professionals, Black business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as ally organizations that are committed to closing the racial wealth gap.
Since 2015, through the active participation of our growing membership across the state, BECMA has been able to successfully advocate for policies that help build and sustain the Black economy, and worked to empower Black-owned businesses with the resources and connections needed to scale their current operations.
My goal since joining the BECMA team has been to enhance our member experience to ensure we are pouring back into our members what they pour into us. That’s why I’m excited to share with you that we have revamped our membership program to better serve Black residents, entrepreneurs, and professionals in Massachusetts during this critical moment in our history.
I invite you to join our community if you are looking to:
- Gain access to networking and professional development opportunities
- Help lead or support local advocacy efforts
- Launch a side-hustle or new entrepreneurial endeavor
- Receive support to grow and scale current business operations through purchasing and business development
- Get exposure for your business/brand
- Have a lasting impact on advancing racial equity and diversifying your supplier base

When you become a BECMA member, you aren’t joining an organization; you’re signing up for the movement to make Massachusetts an inclusive economy.
Be sure to reach out if you have any questions. You can email us at membership@becma.org.
